Refund Policy

When and how you can get a refund for MergeShot credit packs, and how your statutory rights interact with our policy.

1. Scope

This Refund Policy applies to one-off purchases of credit packs on mergeshot.com made by consumers and businesses. It complements our Terms of Service; in case of conflict, the Terms of Service prevail unless this policy is more favourable to you.

2. 14-day right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the right to withdraw from contracts for digital content concluded at a distance within 14 days, without giving any reason, under §§ 312g, 355 of the German Civil Code (BGB) and Directive 2011/83/EU. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which the contract is concluded.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (4vor4 UG, Bromberger Straße 20, 25474 Ellerbek, Germany, hello@mergeshot.com) by means of a clear statement (e.g. an email).

3. Loss of the right of withdrawal for immediate access

Credit packs unlock the paid features of MergeShot immediately, so we treat them as digital content delivered without a physical medium. Under § 356 (5) BGB, the right of withdrawal expires once delivery has started, provided that you (i) expressly consent to the immediate execution of the contract before the 14-day period ends and (ii) acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. You will be asked to give both confirmations at checkout. If you do not give them, your full 14-day right of withdrawal remains intact.

4. How to request a refund

We aim to respond within 5 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through our payment provider acting as Merchant of Record. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take a few additional business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

5. What is not refundable

Beyond the statutory rights described above, refunds are generally not available for:

We may, at our discretion, grant goodwill refunds outside these rules — for example if a technical fault on our side prevents you from using the credits you bought. Please reach out and we'll look at it.

6. Failed merges and credit re-issue

If a merge fails for a technical reason on our side (for example our AI provider returns an error and we cannot deliver a result), we automatically re-issue the credit to your account so you can try again. You do not need to file a refund request in that case. If you believe a credit was consumed without producing a usable result, please email us and we will investigate.

7. Chargebacks and disputes

We strongly prefer to resolve any billing concern directly with you before a chargeback is filed. Chargebacks come with fees and short response windows that can lead to your account being suspended while the dispute is investigated. If something is wrong with your order, please email us at hello@mergeshot.com first — we will do our best to make it right.

8. Merchant of Record

Payments for MergeShot credit packs are processed by our payment provider acting as Merchant of Record. This means the payment provider is the legal seller of record to you for billing, invoicing, refunds, and the collection and remittance of any applicable VAT or sales tax. The contract for the underlying MergeShot service itself is concluded between you and 4vor4 UG. The payment provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment portion of the transaction in addition to ours.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy when we change our payment provider, our pack catalogue, or where required for legal or regulatory reasons. The current version is always published at this URL with a “Last updated” date.
